7/22/10 Hot and Humid Conditions Return
Posted: Thursday, July 22, 2010 : 04:22PM

It's going to get hot the next few days, here is some good information from the Pittsburgh NWS Office....

...HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...

HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL RETURN FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AS A
WARM FRONT CROSSES THE REGION. EXPECT DAYTIME HIGHS TO REACH THE
LOWER 90S. WITH HUMIDITY LEVELS INCREASING...THIS WILL RESULT IN
HEAT INDEX READINGS IN THE MID TO UPPER 90S FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
AFTERNOON.

WHEN HEAT INDEX VALUES REACH INTO THE MID TO UPPER 90S...IT IS
WISE TO SLOW DOWN AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. WEAR LOOSE FITTING
AND LIGHT COLORED CLOTHES. STAY OUT OF THE SUN. INSTEAD SPEND
MORE TIME IN AIR CONDITIONED PLACES. CHECK ON ELDERLY AND OTHERS
WHO MAY BE IMPAIRED BY THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY.

NEVER LEAVE ANYONE...PARTICULARLY A CHILD OR PET IN A VEHICLE WITH
ITS WINDOWS CLOSED OR PARKED IN THE SUN. BEWARE OF OBJECTS IN THE
SUN BECOMING HOT ENOUGH TO BURN...SUCH AS METAL PAVEMENTS OR SAND.
