MORGANTOWN -- Close to 18 inches of snow fell in some parts of Monongalia County, which left several trees down on area roads. Many people were left stranded.
"It's ranging anywhere from down trees are the biggest problem and people without power trying to seek shelter," said Mike Wolfe of M.E.C.C.A.
"We lost our power this morning, went out five or six times. Completely off now, never went back on," said Westover resident, Debbie Walker
Debbie Walker was one of over 10,000 people who lost power in Monongalia County. Walker says she doesn't know where she'll be staying tonight.
"We got our frig full of food, and we can't take showers: wash dishes, I don't know what people do," said Walker.
Authorities estimate 100 people will utlize three area shelters tonight. Many area businesses shut down due the storm and even the Post Office wasn't making their rounds today.
911 Officials say they've received about 2,000 non-emergency calls and 1,500 hundred. Calls ranged from downed trees to people without power who are looking for shelter.
