GRAFTON -- The Grafton Police Department is working with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department to investigate a robbery at the BB&T bank in Grafton.
At about 11 a. m. a white male walked into the branch and handed the teller a note saying he had a weapon, according to Police Chief Robert Beltner.
Witnesses described him as slender with a goatee and a mustache, Beltner said. He was wearing a toboggan, gloves and a Carhart-style jacket or sweatshirt.
The man got away with an undisclosed amount of money, stated Beltner, and police are not sure if he left on foot or in a vehicle.
Police are also trying to figure out which direction he headed in after leaving the bank, according to Beltner.
The West Virginia State Police and the FBI also responded to the call.
Anyone with information on the incident should call the Grafton Police Department at 304-265-0101 or the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department at 304-265-3428.
